Flu shots are recommended for patients who are:
Ages 6 months to 5 years;
65 years or older;
Being treated for a chronic medical condition that may increase the likelihood of a more severe influenza infection (e.g. asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart disease etc.);
Pregnant; or are
Household contacts of any higher risk individuals.

Have you appointed a surrogate decision maker (SDM) for medical decision-making? This person would speak for you if you became ill and were unable to give directions about the medical care that you would choose.
Does your SDM know what you wishes are?
If you were to suffer a from a severe illness and could not give directions to the doctors and nurses providing your care, what things are important for them to know about your values and beliefs?
